About

After recently receiving her Master of Architecture degree from Columbia’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, Sadie Imae has devoted herself to design that engages the public as well as improves the wellness of individuals. Her multifaceted design approach encompasses many tools from digital to physical. With digital tools she renders not so distant futures as feasible realities, while experimenting with materials and building to push our current practices into tomorrow.

“An Empathy for the Material” -Sam Moyer

Imae strives to propose designs that look upon the world with soft eyes, that are inclusive and have the “other” in mind. Humans, animals, materials, and environments are supported and interconnected by unified designs of kindness. Kind no longer refers to humankind in this design approach, rather a ultimate “kindness” that holds empathy for the unconsidered or outcast groups in traditional design.
